IMAGINE by KIA 2019

The seat back of IMAGINE by KIA was made by paper folding principle like Origami, which is folded from a sheet(plane) into a seat, in a 3D program. I went on a business trip to KIA studio in Frankfurt, and only after I arrived to the studio I could hear a brief information about the goal I need to achieve, "build a seat using origami technique in 3D program", which I never even IMAGINEd before. However, the interior designer was so enthusiastic, also full of great ideas, so I could not say "no I can't", but I said I would do my best. I think the end result came out pretty great! Working on this project, I started to learn and use physics simulation tool "Kangaroo" in Rhino grasshopper, which I ever since use hear and there.
